Doubleday Series Goes the Distance, Sacramento Prevails
Thursday, October 17th , 2058
The fans in Sacramento are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Twin Cities.

The Sacramento Mad Popes finished off the Twin Cities River Monsters 2-1 in the deciding game of the Doubleday Series played at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough.

They took the series 4-3 and will now head to the Cartwright Cup.

For his standout play, Sacramento shortstop Badr Isam was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.

He batted .440, drove in 1 runs and scored 4 to lead his club to victory.

"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Isam and that doomed us," said River Monsters manager Gerald Brandt. "Hats off to Sacramento, though. That was a great series."

The Sacramento Mad Popes will play against the Nashville Bluebirds in the next round. Nashville won their series against the Long Beach Surfers 4 games to 0. The Cartwright Cup is scheduled to begin on October 18th , 2058.
