Nashville Sweeps into the Cartwright Cup Sunday, October 13th , 2058 Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Frick League Doubleday Series. It turned out quite a bit different. The Nashville Bluebirds swept aside the Long Beach Surfers to advance to the Cartwright Cup, winning the final game by a 3-1 score at Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium. The series MVP was third baseman Jorge Canó, who hit .400 with a .471 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 9 RBI and scored 7 runs. "We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it." The Nashville Bluebirds don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Twin Cities River Monsters - Sacramento Mad Popes series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Cartwright Cup is scheduled to begin on October 18th , 2058.
