Deal: Sackett for Welch Friday, June 9th , 2051 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Chilis and Aztecs have agreed to a swap. Mexico City will get 17-year old minor league RHP Edgard RodrÃguez and 30-year old minor league RHP Chris Sackett with El Paso receiving 24-year old 2B Thomas Welch in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. Sackett has run up these career stats so far: 15 wins, 25 losses, 317 appearances, 4 saves, 407.1 innings pitched, 358 strikeouts and a 5.86 ERA. |
