The Nashville Bluebirds had to overcome a good performance from Twin Cities pitcher Bernie Stuart to claim a 3-2 win at Les Paul Field. Stuart went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Nashville reliever Jim Fleming picked up the win to move to 1-1. Luis González suffered the loss. Quirke Roddis earned the save, his 5th.
Nashville took a 3-2 lead on Colby Triska's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Twin Cities pitcher Luis González in the bottom of the eighth.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Nashville manager Brent Ross.
Nashville goes to 9-5 with the win.
