The Rocky Mountain Oysters started the Doubleday Series in style today, winning on the road against the Mexico City Aztecs at Ullamaliztli Field by a score of 5-2 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Oysters third baseman José Sánchez excelled. He was 3-4 with 2 triples. He scored 2 runs.

The Oysters took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Facing Mexico City hurler Dave Corfield with one out, Sánchez hit a run-scoring triple.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Sánchez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ullamaliztli Field in Mexico City.
