Geoghegan Round Game 1 Victory for Best and Rocky Mountain
Stephen Best and the Rocky Mountain Oysters opened the Geoghegan Round in brilliant fashion today, shutting out the visiting Las Vegas Hustlers at Smashburger Field 7-0 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Best, the Oysters right-hander, threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball.

Best, a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was dealing all game. He kept Las Vegas hitters off-balance, while giving the Oysters 8 quality innings. Best threw 96 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 7.

Best said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Smashburger Field in Colorado Springs.
