Gamblers Win at New Orleans, 7-4
|
A 3-RBI performance from left fielder Lee Hogan, who is a two-time All-Star, led the Atlantic City Gamblers to a win over the New Orleans Crawdads, 7-4. Steven Anderton earned the win for Atlantic City. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 10-6. The Crawdads, at 65-50, have lost 4 in a row.
Atlantic City relied on the hitting of Will Patterson to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Gamblers on top, 3-1. For the game, Patterson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said New Orleans manager Jared Gillstrom. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
