The Yellow Springs Nine had to overcome a good performance from Portland pitcher Steffan Gimsing to claim a 2-0 win at Utopia Field. Gimsing went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Cheslav Evgrafov was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed no runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. Tyson Morris locked down his 6th save.

Burhan Tahir had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Yellow Springs. He came through with a run-scoring double to put Yellow Springs in front, 2-0.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Tahir.

Yellow Springs now sits in 7th place in the Frick League Heartland Division at 39-55.
