Lumberjacks Stumble, Lose to Nine
A 3-RBI performance from Burhan Tahir, who finished 3rd in the FL in doubles with 42 in 2054, helped the Yellow Springs Nine beat the Portland Lumberjacks, 8-3. Yellow Springs starter Cory McGuire was credited with the win after throwing 80 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 6-5. The 7th-place Nine improved to 38-54.

With Yellow Springs leading 5-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Tahir came up to bat against Portland pitcher Curt Henderson. Tahir hit a circle change to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Nine on top, 8-1.

"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Tahir told the Yellow Springs Today.
