Crawdads Prevail, 6-4, Over Edmonton
|
The New Orleans Crawdads downed the Edmonton Jackrabbits, 6-4, at The Commanders Palace. Colm Alker led the way, going 2-for-3 for New Orleans. Steven Flannery got the win, improving to 9-3. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Edmonton, at 32-59, has lost 4 straight.
With New Orleans leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Alker hit a sinker from Mus'ad Amr for a solo home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Crawdads ahead, 4-2.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Alker said.
