Behind a fine performance from Pepe Prieto, the Twin Cities River Monsters knocked off the Portland Lumberjacks, 8-0. Prieto was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the River Monsters. Bernie Stuart, the winner, goes to 10-3. He allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 5 walks and 5 strikeouts over 5.2 innings. Dan Small closed the door for Twin Cities, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Twin Cities relied on the bat of Aaron Haney to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the River Monsters ahead, 1-0. For the game, Haney had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.
