Hebrew Hammers Get Zip in 8-0 Loss to Balgera
|
All went well for Richard Balgera of the Sydney Sharks as he pitched his team to a 8-0 shutout victory over the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers, limiting them to 4 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Balgera on the day.
"Richard's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Sharks manager Kang Der. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Sydney right-hander rang up 6 and surrendered 2 walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Hebrew Hammers manager Eisuke Ishii. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
This year Balgera has fanned 140 in 204 innings and collected a 12-12 record with a 3.57 ERA.
