Hebrew Hammers Fall Short at Tokyo, 3-2
|
The Tokyo Pearls had to overcome a good performance from Jerusalem pitcher Afzul Chishti to claim a 3-2 win at Manama Fields. Chishti went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Seu Park notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now sits at 7-1. Tokyo is third in the GBC with a record of 71-68.
Had it not been for Odemar Lock, the results might have been different. In the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Pearls were trailing 2-1, Lock hit a 2-run single for Tokyo, giving his team the lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Lock. "And not try to do too much."
