Ala' Leads Sharks to 6-3 Win Over Pilots
|
The Sydney Sharks topped the Sao Paulo Pilots by the score of 6-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Wasim Ala'. Ala' went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Sharks on the day. Richard Balgera got the win, improving to 9-12. He worked 8 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Carlos Rocha was called on to finish, recording his 31st save.
The Sharks took a 5-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning. Facing Sao Paulo hurler Jason Lee with two outs, Ala' hit a 2-run single.
