Late Magic Gets Jerusalem 4-2 Win
|
The Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers took Tokyo pitcher Deron Alexander's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Manama Fields. The final score had Jerusalem getting past the Pearls, 4-2. Alexander went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. Dileep Mirchandani, now 1-6, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The Hebrew Hammers, at 57-60, sit in 5th place in the GBC.
Jerusalem used a clutch hit from Callum Montgomerie to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hebrew Hammers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Jerusalem manager Eisuke Ishii.
