Canó Pops Two Homers in 8-5 Win for Nashville
|
Nashville third baseman Jorge Canó played a vital role in his team's 8-5 triumph over Portland. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for Nashville. Nashville reliever Cristo Muñóz picked up the win, upping his record to 5-0. Byron Ratcliffe shouldered the loss. Quirke Roddis was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 26 of 27 save opportunities.
Canó had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-1 fastball from Byron Ratcliffe, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Bluebirds a 8-5 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Canó.
"We'll savor this win," Canó told the Nashville Times, "then get ready for the next game."
The Bluebirds have an impressive 55-24 record.
