|
Behind an impressive start by Eric Stevens, Nashville beat Twin Cities, 8-2. The first-place Bluebirds, at 109-52, lead the Frick League Heartland Division by 26 games.
Alfonso Gonzáles was 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Nashville. The two-time Sawyer Silk Sliver Slugger Trophy winner had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and a runner on 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Will Ritter. It was his 152nd hit of the season.
Gonzáles called the win "a collective effort."
