Starting pitcher Richard Balgera was a major factor in the 6-2 Sydney Sharks triumph over the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers. The winning pitcher was Balgera, now 8-8. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. At 52-55, the Sharks are currently 6th in the GBC.

Sydney used the bat of Jamal bin Majd to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Sharks ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," bin Majd told the Sydney Herald.
