Oysters Get One-Run Win at Rockville
|
Rocky Mountain picked up a win at Owen's Ordinary, toppling the Rockville Pikemen, 2-1. Pitcher Denny Tabb was one of the reasons the Oysters triumphed. Tabb went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 5-3. With the win, Rocky Mountain pushed its record to 40-39.
Rocky Mountain used the clutch hitting of Rashad bin Hadad to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Oysters the lead, 2-0. For the game, bin Hadad had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Rockville skipper Francisco Catazara, "and it cost us."
