Sharks Sneak Past Pearls, 1-0
|
The Sydney Sharks did just enough to secure a victory over the Tokyo Pearls, 1-0, at Manama Fields. Nobody did more than pitcher Richard Balgera. The 6th-place Sharks improved to 50-52.
Sydney used a clutch hit from Mohammed bin Mus'ad to get the win. The third baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sharks ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
bin Mus'ad attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
