Pilots Can't Finish, Lose 5-3
|
Tokyo Pearls starter Tommy Boele pitched a strong game against the Sao Paulo Pilots at Ballpark of Bucharest, leading the Pearls to victory, 5-3. Tokyo reliever Markùri Siliqi got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Iván Ruíz was tagged with the loss. Veikko Aravirta earned his 8th save in 11 tries.
Tokyo took a 4-3 lead on Ernesto Pérez's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Pérez hit in the top of the ninth, left Sao Paulo pitcher Iván Ruíz visibly frustrated.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Pérez.
The win for the Pearls lifted their record to 50-43.
