Pearls Win Again, 6-3, Extend Streak to 6
|
The Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers got a superb performance from left fielder Eli James. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Tokyo. The Pearls won the game, 6-3. James went 1 for 1 with a home run and 3 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Naruhiko Kawano got the save, the 5th for him this season. Tokyo now has a record of 35-30 with the win.
Chris Thomas hit a 2-run triple off Kent Jones in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Pearls in front, 5-3. Thomas had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 4.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Thomas, "and go after the next one."
