Fighting Centaurs Dealt 3-1 Loss by Jerusalem
|
Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers starter José Hernández turned in an exceptional performance against the Athens Fighting Centaurs at The Holy Land, resulting in a Jerusalem win, 3-1. Hernández went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-1. Jerusalem is now 26-29, while Athens is 22-32.
Jerusalem took a 3-1 lead on Jaicus Bigornia's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Athens pitcher Hiroshi Yamasaki in the bottom of the seventh.
"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Bigornia. "And vice-versa."
