Browne Helps Hebrew Hammers Beat Pearls, 9-1
|
J.R. Browne left his imprint on the 9-1 Jerusalem win against the Tokyo Pearls. Browne went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Patrick Whitlock got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The save was credited to Taua Fatani, his 1st.
Jerusalem took a 6-1 lead on Browne's 2nd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Seu Park in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Jerusalem to the win.
"It was a good win," said Jerusalem manager Eisuke Ishii. "Not without blemish, but good."
Tokyo falls to 1-2.
