Sacramento used a superb performance from starting pitcher Joe King to down the Bikini Krill, 5-0. King, the winner, moves to 4-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Getting the save was Félix Vidaca, his 5th.

Sacramento relied on the hitting of José Montoya to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mad Popes on top, 2-0. For the game, Montoya had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Sacramento manager Fernando Pacheco.

The Mad Popes, now 2-0, have stormed out of the gates.
