 | Matthews Belts Bunch of Base Hits Monday, November 28th, 2044 The 5th time was not the charm for Kevin Matthews today. The third baseman for the Coral Gables Lumberjacks hit the milestone today at Sun Cats Ballpark, but it was the Naples Tropics that salvaged a 8-6 victory. Matthews finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough. "He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Naples manager Brandon Atkinson said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win." Matthews declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one." Kevin Matthews singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Ron Frazier in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Rodrigo Villalobos in the 9th.
