Álvarez rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Crawdads hurlers were throwing. "I think the Aztecs were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Venice fan after the game. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Álvarez in the postgame press interview. Joaquín Álvarez flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
