 | Smith Bashes 5 Base Hits Thursday, November 19th, 2043 Earl Smith had an answer for everything the Tallahassee Gamblers threw at him today at Saguaros Ballpark. The Kissimmee shortstop went 5-for-5 in the game to put his name in the record book and put the Kernels on top, 22-1. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Smith said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Earl Smith doubled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jorge Torres in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Germán Gómez in the 6th and walked in the 7th.
