| Valentín Selected 2041 FPL Most Valuable Player Thursday, January 2nd, 2042 At the age of 21, José Valentín of the Tallahassee Gamblers could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2041 was good enough to win the right fielder the Florida Prospect League Most Valuable Player.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .426 batting average this year, as well as a .477 on-base percentage. He played 34 games and racked up 58 hits, 9 doubles, 4 triples, 13 home runs, 39 RBIs and 34 runs scored.
He received 32 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Matt Normore of the Coral Gables Lumberjacks finished second in voting, while Scott Bell of the Fort Lauderdale Pioneers finished third.
