Montgomerie Blasts 3 into Bleachers Saturday, June 8th , 2058 Callum Montgomerie went on an explosive hitting spree against the Sao Paulo Pilots at The Holy Land today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers to the 8-2 win. The first baseman finished 4-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 4 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Montgomerie said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Sao Paulo skipper Dermott Dalling said Montgomerie was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Callum Montgomerie hit a solo-shot off Tye Whitford in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Arturo Damasco in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jason Lee in the 7th. In the current season, Montgomerie has put up a .239 batting average with 16 hits, 5 home runs, 10 runs batted in and scored 7 runs. |
