Tarpons Win Tight Baxter League Gulf Coast Race Saturday, August 31st , 2058 The Silver Springs Tarpons are champions of the Baxter League Gulf Coast, but don't plan the parade quite yet. "It's a nice accomplishment, but we haven't done anything until we win the Pegler Series," said starting pitcher Qays bin Shafiq. "We're going to celebrate this for sure, but the real celebration is still to come for fans in Silver Springs." The club's record currently sits at 73-65. It is the team's 15th division title and they will be seeking the franchise's 3rd Charley Pegler League championship. Team manager Huibert Staps said he plans to take some time to celebrate the division title, but then it's "back to work" for members of the team and coaching staff. |
