Long Island Captures Wild Card Tuesday, August 27th , 2058 For a team that has never won a Pegler Series, how you get to the postseason isn't the important part. The important part is simply that you get there and thus, the Long Island Legion excitedly celebrated their Baxter League wild card berth tonight. "There's only one thing that everyone on this team wants and that's to be champions. We want to bring a title home to Long Island and this is the first step," said starting pitcher Kreshnik Bizi. "Of course we would have loved to win the division, but we look forward to the challenge ahead." It will be the 1st Charley Pegler League championship in franchise history for the team if they can pull it off. "That's the ultimate goal," added the starting pitcher. |
