Tims Hitless, Streak Ends at 29
Thursday, July 11th , 2058
The 29-game hitting streak of Thunder Bay Bay Bears left fielder Keith Tims came to an end today at The Looney Bin. The Lake City Limes held him hitless in 3 at-bats and also sent the Bay Bears down to defeat, 7-1.
Later, Tims acknowledged to BNN reporters that the hit streak meant something to him.
"It was special," he said, "but I think other people make a bigger deal out of it than I do, or the players do. It was what we're all supposed to do; go out and hit the ball and try to score runs. It was a cool deal, but it's over now. Let's try to start a new one."
For the season, Tims is hitting at a .347 clip with 7 home runs, 19 RBIs and has scored 19 runs. He has 43 hits, 13 walks and a .413 on-base percentage.
