De La Cruz slammed three home runs against the Topeka ThunderBears, but the ThunderBears outhit him and got the win by a score of 10-5. "Lately, I been uppercutting the ball too much. I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark," he said to sportswriters after the game. "No big long outs for me in this game -- I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot three times. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Medford first baseman finished the day at Lisa Rinna Field with 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 RBI and 4 runs scored.
