Kawano Struts Stuff in Win Over Yellow Springs Saturday, July 16th , 2061 In an excellent mound performance, Sakutaro Kawano of the San Fernando Bears blanked the Yellow Springs Nine, 8-0, on a 2-hitter. "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches," he said after the game. In all, the San Fernando hurler rang up 8 strikeouts and 1 walk in the shutout win. "We just didn't swing the bats well today," said Nine manager Bill Inkster. "Kawano did a good job keeping us guessing." In 20 starts this year, Kawano has fashioned a 9-3 record and a 2.85 ERA.
