Ploid's Hit Streak Over Sunday, July 28th , 2058 The 27-game hitting streak of Unem Ploid has come to an end. The Sacramento Mad Popes first baseman went 0-for-5 today in his team's 9-4 loss to the Bikini Krill at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough. "It's not just Unem who came up short today," Mad Popes manager Fernando Pacheco said in his postgame press conference. "This was a team loss." So far this season, Ploid has recorded a .360 batting average with 151 hits, 8 home runs, 46 RBIs, 80 runs scored and a .436 OBP. |
