McBride Smashes 3 HR Wednesday, September 27th , 2051 In a powerful performance that left the fans at Northwoods Outpost buzzing, Portland Lumberjacks first baseman Ernest McBride blasted a trio of home runs en route to a 6-3 win over the Vancouver Mounties. "Everything was clicking," McBride told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them." McBride shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Lumberjacks manager Grux King said. "Ernest played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game." Ernest McBride hit a two-run home run off Cristo Muñóz in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Cristo Muñóz in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Jorge Fuentes in the 7th.
