 | Long Beach Surfers Ship Martínez to Charm City Saturday, July 7th, 2046 Long Beach and Charm City announced today in a joint press conference that 28-year-old LHP Jorge Nevárez and 25-year-old LF Gonzalo Martínez will be going to the Jimmies in exchange for 22-year-old RHP Robin Johnson, 23-year-old LHP Pat Wingert and 25-year-old 3B Juan Hernández. "It'll be exciting to join a new organization," one player said. "Some of us could use a fresh start." The players have each passed physicals and are expected to report by day's end. Long Beach will retain a portion of Martínez's remaining contract. This season Martínez has hit at a .275 clip with 39 RBIs, 11 home runs and 37 runs scored. |   |
