Yrrigs Carpenter Hurt, Out for Year
Friday, June 14th, 2041
The doctors have spoken and Yrrigs Carpenter of the San Antonio Outlaws didn't like what he heard. The 25-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Carpenter sustained his season-ending injury during the Charm City Jimmies game yesterday at The Tap Room. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the San Antonio medical staff reported Carpenter had a damaged elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 13 months.

This year Carpenter has a 4-5 mark in 14 starts with a 4.74 ERA. He has given up 76 hits in 76 innings, struck out 83 and issued 28 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .259 batting average against him.
