Dave Corfield pitched a gem to lead Mexico City to victory over the Montreal Blazers, 3-1. Sergio Tormes nailed down his 11th save. Mexico City, now 30-28, holds down third place in the Johnson League Frontier Division.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Félix Román? The three-time Yogi Zimmer Diamond Glove Award winner Román stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Mexico City up, 3-1. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 2 doubles and 1 single.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Corfield said.
