Gamblers Suffer 2-1 Setback

The Charlotte Flyers had to overcome a fine performance from Atlantic City pitcher James Robinson to grab a 2-1 win at The Ballpark at Bally's. Robinson allowed 1 run over 6 innings. Alejandro Chávez collected his 10th save. The Flyers saw their win-loss record go to 69-57. At the same time, the Gamblers fell to 48-78.
Charlotte used the timely hitting of Manny Toledo to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Flyers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Atlantic City skipper Mike Martínez.
