Phoenix Talons starter Damian Theophanous was in fine form as he helped his team beat the San Antonio Outlaws, 6-1. Theophanous went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 7-2. The second-place Talons lifted their record to 69-56.
Tomás Borges put Phoenix in front, 4-0, when he took Sakutaro Kawano downtown. His 3-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the second. It was his 15th home run of the season.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Borges told the Phoenix Daily News.
