Surfers Improve to 66-57 with 5-4 Win
|
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Terry Cole, the Long Beach Surfers defeated the Bikini Krill, 5-4. Cole went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Surfers. Owen McKelvey got the save, his 10th in 10 chances. The win puts the Surfers at 66-57, while the Krill drop to 55-68.
The game turned with one out in the top of the fourth when Cole, who is tied for 8th in the FL in doubles with 27, hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the Surfers into the lead, 4-1.
"We played hard and won," said Cole. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
