Bears Come Up Short at Yellow Springs, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring clash between Yellow Springs and San Fernando, pitcher Brody Picot was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. In 6.1 innings, Picot surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. At 23-28, the Nine are currently 6th in the Frick League Heartland Division.
Felipe Delgado dealt the Bears a blow in the bottom of the seventh. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Yellow Springs leading 2-0, Delgado hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Picot said.
