7-2 Win Gets Montreal to 31-19
|
Getting an impressive start from Tommy Baird, Montreal beat Mexico City by the score of 7-2. The winning pitcher was Baird, now 4-4. He tossed 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. The Blazers now have a mark of 31-19.
Montreal used the bat of Eduardo González to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Blazers ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Montreal manager Ernesto Zamora.
