Omaha Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Omaha picked up a win at Mordonez Ballpark, toppling the Twin Cities River Monsters, 4-3. Pitcher Arturo Meza was one of the reasons the Cyclones triumphed. Meza went the distance for Omaha. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. With the victory, the Cyclones upped their record to 23-15.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Omaha designated hitter Iwo Apfelski, facing Patrick Rosales, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Cyclones the 4-3 win.
Twin Cities manager Gerald Brandt said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
