The Bikini Krill beat the Long Beach Surfers, 6-3, at Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium. Mike McClure, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Cliff Crudge got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Shea Valance collected his 8th save.

Bikini relied on the hitting of Michael Buckley to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Krill on top, 4-0. For the game, Buckley had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said McClure, "and then get after it again."

At 19-16, Bikini is in third place in the Frick League Pacific Division.
