Long Beach Gets 3-0 Win
The Bikini Krill got a sterling performance from pitcher Brody Picot, but the Long Beach Surfers still prevailed, 3-0. Picot threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball. The winner in relief was Gilberto Cordero. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. Ángel Villanueva was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.

Pedro Vargas came through with a big-time hit for Long Beach. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Long Beach manager Mike Ellis.

At 15-19, Long Beach is in 7th place in the Frick League Pacific Division.
