Behind a solid performance from first baseman Burhan Tahir, the Yellow Springs Nine defeated the Des Moines Kernels, 6-2. Tahir was 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Nine. Miguel Días came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. The loss drops the Des Moines record to a disappointing 12-16.

Yellow Springs relied on the hitting of Arvin Duggan to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Nine on top, 3-1. For the game, Duggan had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Yellow Springs manager Jason Ramsey.
