The Montreal Blazers beat the New Orleans Crawdads, 5-1, at The Commanders Palace. Montreal left fielder António López had an outstanding performance. He was 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Nelson Thompson, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Vonne Baloloy picked up the save, his 1st.

With Montreal leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, López hit a run-scoring single off New Orleans hurler Micah Harrington. It was the 24th hit of the season for López and put his team ahead, 2-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," López told the Montreal Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

Montreal, now 13-4, is setting the league on fire so far.
